The lovely editors of All Things Fashion DC sent me to cover last night’s Cosmo Couture event at Arlington’s Artisphere. Cosmo Couture fosters a direct collaboration between local Architecture and Interior Design firms and their manufacturing partners in the Washington DC area, to create garments reflecting a given theme. The garments are judged during a runway show and awards are given to design teams in different categories.
The beneficiary for this year’s event was My Sister’s Place, were Cosmo Couture is honored to have donated over forty thousand dollars to over the past two years. This year they announced a partnership between IIDA MAC and the Corcoran Gallery of Art. The inspiration of the theme was be based on a selected painting which is part of the museum’s Contemporary Gallery. The Corcoran Gallery of Art will also assemble all of this year’s garments into an exhibit to open shortly to display all of the entries to the public.
I was very pleased to have had the pleasure of attending this event and thoroughly enjoyed looking at all of the entries in this years Cosmo Couture event. Look for my review in the coming days from All Things Fashion DC!
